Better team performance starts with how people work together
How well people listen, challenge, communicate, and stay connected under pressure shapes the quality of a team’s ideas, the speed of its decisions, and the willingness to go the extra mile.
Before you look for better people, give the people you have better tools.
Team Ecology® is a virtual training program that makes the interpersonal skills of high-performing teams practical, measurable, and scalable — so the whole team gets better together.

Talent often isn’t the problem — or the solution
Talent often isn’t the problem — or the solution.
Most teams already have smart, capable people. Yet as pressure increases, communication breaks down, accountability becomes uneven, decisions slow, and frustration grows.
That’s an ecology problem. Ecology is the study of how living systems interact and function together. Team Ecology® applies that same lens to teams — because individual talent only goes so far. What matters is how that talent connects.
Team Ecology measures how your team works together across five essential conditions, then provides practical tools to accelerate improvement. Within weeks, a stronger team emerges — with new capabilities to transform challenges, overcome disruption, and navigate change together.

Why Team Ecology is Different
- The whole team develops together — Team performance isn’t determined only by the team’s most senior members. Everyone gains the same tools, language, and frameworks — creating shared capabilities so everybody grows.
- Learning happens when it matters — Instead of concentrating development into a single workshop or offsite, Team Ecology stays available as real challenges arise. Team members can learn on their own schedules, and return to the tools when they need them.
- Research translated into practice — Team Ecology draws on decades of research into motivation, psychological safety, resilience, communication, and team performance — and turns those insights into practical tools people can actually use.
- You can measure what changes — An anonymous team assessment establishes a baseline across 5 key conditions, identifies areas for development, and measures progress over time.
- The skills travel beyond the team — The same capabilities that improve how colleagues work together can strengthen client relationships, referral partnerships, and organizational culture. Develop them inside the team, then extend them to the ecosystem around you.

From Individual Resilience to Team Performance
Since 2007, Andy Bernstein has taught through Wharton Executive Education, helping leaders develop new ways to navigate pressure and uncertainty.
Over time, a question emerged: What happens when the challenge isn’t just an individual under pressure, but an entire team?
Team Ecology® grew from that question. It extends the principles of resilience beyond the individual and into the relationships that shape team performance under pressure.
Team Ecology helps leaders build stronger communication, accountability, and coordination across entire teams.

“Masterful… I’ve never read a more useful book about managing stress — I’ve made it required reading for some of the people who matter most to me.”
– Adam Grant, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Think Again, Originals, and Give & Take
Andy’s book has helped thousands of people move beyond managing stress to building genuine resilience. Team Ecology® grew out of that work — taking his framework for individual resilience and extending it to the dynamics of teams.
